The company announced a net income of $317 million, or $1.17 per share, a 12% increase from $283 million, or $1.04 per share, in the prior year quarter. Core income also rose 6% to $326 million, or $1.19 per share, compared to $308 million, or $1.13 per share, in the same period last year.
